World Psoriasis Day

Have Skin to live in this World Psoriasis Day

What is World Psoriasis Day?

If you have psoriasis, it can be easy to feel isolated. In these moments, it’s important to remember that you are not alone: psoriasis affects 125 million people worldwide.1

October 29th is the 10th annual World Psoriasis Day – a day when people from around the globe come together to raise awareness of psoriasis.

Formed by the International Federation of Psoriasis Associations,2 a consortium of patient associations from around the globe, World Psoriasis Day aims to raise the profile of psoriasis and encourage national and international authorities to take the condition more seriously.

“I had never actually realised the extent that there was such mental/psychological side effects to psoriasis”

- Helen, Dublin

How can you be a part of this important day?

Spread the word about psoriasis by starting the conversation with friends, family and community members.

There are lots of conversations taking place online as well. You can join in by tweeting, posting or sharing your photos to show your support… Just remember to include the hashtag: #WorldPsoriasisDay!

How are Skin to live in and Novartis involved?

This World Psoriasis Day, we want to raise awareness of the different severities of psoriasis and the impact they can have. Many people may not realise how much psoriasis can vary from person to person, or change over time.3-5

We want to highlight these differences and the effect they can have on day-to-day life.

You wake in the morning and you think ‘right, what am I going to wear? How bad is my skin today? What do I need to conceal? What do I need to cover?’

- Helen, Dublin

With increased attention on the psoriasis community, World Psoriasis Day is great opportunity to start changing people's perceptions of severe skin conditions.

You can help us by sharing your photos and stories about what psoriasis means to you on our Facebook page, or on Twitter or Instagram.

Let’s stand together this October 29th and begin a global dialogue around psoriasis.
